I get bored of vignettes easier than most! Swapping out some of the pieces on our coffee table for things I already own is an easy, inexpensive way to update the feel of our living room several times a year. For me, these are some foolproof components for styling a coffee table.

Books
I ask for a new coffee table book almost every year for Christmas. Pictured are a few of my favorites, but I have so many throughout our home. Consider size, color, and whether the content is something you’d like to have at your fingertips for inspiration when the mood strikes. Decorating books are my go-to.
Tray
A tray is a great way to corral smaller objects like coasters, a candle, and a vase. I like to use a tray made of a material that contrasts nicely with my wood coffee table.
Candle
You can’t go wrong with candlelight. It instantly makes your living space cozy. Consider whether you want a scented option and look for one in a pretty container.
Something Interesting
Look for a smaller object that’s unique, quirky, or even whimsical. I have a petrified wood bowl and a black iron sphere, but I have my eye on the crystal sphere linked below because I think it would really be fun when it catches the light! This would be a great time to bring in a small travel treasure as well!
Nature
Add a plant or fresh flowers. I have a DIY terrarium but for bigger impact, I’m a big fan of grocery store flowers on the table. Trader Joe’s is my go-to for unique, reasonably priced flowers. In this arrangement, I bought the three different types of flowers separately. I trimmed an inch and a half or so off the stems, peeled off a lot of the leaves, and forced open the petals on the roses as I arranged them.

Linking some of my go-to items below. Our coffee table will likely stay like this until spring. What’s on your table?
